five million spirits
i re-read americana by don de lillo because of the blurb on the back describing our hero in his hotel room editing a film about himself and america 1969. and i feel thats what we are doing now - going out shooting pixels and editing them in our hotel rooms 2006. it's a story and maybe even our work - it's what we do. chris coco is doing it so well - i think he's undercover for wire magazine - looking for the avant rw scoop. i've finished the j.boyd and wondering what to do next - apart from listening to the new primals album. i would suggest you all read the joe boyd book. i loved the incredible string band so much and still do and this book explains why. to me way back in the 1960s the isb dylan the stones and the beatles - and perhaps in that order. the lilac times bbc sessions come further down the list but please don't let that stop you purchasing the re-issues - a link will follow. meanwhile we search for our beat soul - wherever we left it - and wonder if anything will rhyme ever again. i hope your rhymes are sweet x

now here
now here doing what we do etc. sitting in hotel suite up-loading photos listening to hank williams and thinking about the past. i spoke to nick when i went to herefordshire for my birthday and we think paradise circus was always called paradise circus and was always going to have a hill on it and lilac3 was going to be called tree (three without the h) but then it turned out all peter blake and partridge so it changed. but we like the conformity and continuity of the new look lilacs 1 2 & 3 and we hope you do too. nick is going to do t-shirts. we talked about the new lilac album and how to do it - but it's only talk and will be next year and so not worth you even imagining. we talked about a michael mickey nicky stevie claire and melvin line up - the old and the new together. we rehearsed for the cecil sharpe gig in cara and mickeys garden - maybe we should record it there. . . anyway. . for now i'll just read joe boyds white bicycles and go to bed - sleep well x
