happy bank holiday monday – seems like the first time i’ve had to sit down and write for some time – promotion for runout groove which is released on october 22nd has started – i’ll tell you when interviews are on the radio and in the papers – we also have at least 70 hours of film to go through for the film – it’s quite an ambitious project – telling the story of the lilac time & myself within the context of the lost girl in the midnight sun – but flashing back to earlier times – solo clips and archive footage of aldermaston marches – douglas arrowsmith has done an amazing job amassing all this stuff - now he just has to stick it together – how difficult can that be? – i’m going to be here in front of the screen editing and mixing the sound – we recorded both the hereford and green man shows + lot’s of rehearsal stuff when i sang loads of songs I couldn’t remember the words or tunes too – from julie christie and all the sad young men to the kite and the sky – the last track on runout groove – we aim to have the sound mix down by christmas so we can have the film ready for next year – for a festival release before the dvd comes out – also we should have enough live stuff for a soundtrack album – well hopefully – although we are also planning to make a lilac time folk song album too for release next year – nicks new album for bogus frontage is being mixed – if you can’t wait tree museum by nick duffy is available on itunes right now – we should have some clips from the film to accompany driving somewhere as a trailer for the film and the single – as each single is released more of the film will be ready – and we will have a runout groove film website so you can look at the work in progress - paper boat is on you tube - so it wasn’t a dream then – if anyone has any film - even if it’s only from a phone - that you think we should consider for the film please get in touch - hope you enjoyed no direction on the chris coco show you can find it somewhere amongst all the rest of it here - i’ve had the privilege of hearing the new robert plant & alison krauss album raising sand – it is quite amazing and my favourite record of the year so far – the new pj harvey album is also very good – sounds like she wrote it on the piano – iron and wines album is wonderful too – so runout groove will be in fine company – still thinking about the october show – it will happen – in london – after every show i wonder if I’ll do another - it’s so expensive being a six piece band – and so exhausting playing solo – i’m still wearing my green man wrist band though – maybe we’ll get together every year just to play the there if they’ll have us – now back to work on the film – michael giris narration has to be written - come and live out on the beach x |
