hello friends it's been an age - what are you up to? the film is on it's way - "memory and desire - thirty years in the wilderness with stephen duffy and the lilac time" is almost finished. we shot some final scenes and some credits with nick in cornwall over the weekend. it looks great - douglas has done a brilliant job and if you were at the green man or hereford you look like a million lira - if a little younger. we are hoping to have it ready for the festivals next year and at that point we will release the compilation album also called "memory and desire" which contains two new cuts one of which is randomly called "memory and desire" . we're wondering if we should hold off nicks album "sapphire stylus" until then too. we have the soundtrack to think about as well - lots of live stuff and acoustical versions and me reading from the bible. cherry red are re releasing the ups and downs with some unreleased stuff on it - age hasn't been kind to my half hearted attempt at pop stardom - poor lamb thank you for your messages of goodwill we are enjoying being mr & mrs duffy. meanwhile it's back to dirks letters and the songs of andy reynolds and the 101 ranch boys. dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer x p.s. please buy the single "happy birthday peace" and the beautiful book version of "runout groove" |

Just a reminder that the programme about the Devils 'Lost Albums: The Devils, Dark Circles' goes out tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd June) on BBC Radio 4 at 1330 - 1400 repeated Saturday 7th June 1530 - 1600 It'll also be on 'listen again' on bbc.co.uk/radio4 website for a week after both transmissions. |

the return of the giant devils. we're thinking about releasing the dvd. Happy Birthday Peace single out in July A Dream of A Girl (slightly faster version) Aldermaston (slightly shorter version) The Birdcall & The Sensitive Flame (very much from the next nick duffy album) Talkin' Pessimism & Pain Blues (so gloomy it couldn't go on the last album) Runout Groove (slightly out there spoken word high jinx - hilarity ensues). Nick Duffy & The Lilac Time album Sapphire Stylus - out in August. talking of lost albums we're thinking of releasing the vanity project on bogus frontage - with extra tracks and this time putting steven page & stephen duffy somewhere on the cover - before we make another lost album. . . memory and desire film ready for the festivals next year - so soundtrack and compilation around then too. the book of runout groove and t shirts will be available soon too. meanwhile the edit continues and i impersonate jean luc godard before the motorcycle accident.
